well that seams like a short lived dream.

left Activision to be given freedom and they can own their IP's

moves to EA who now own them and i would assume their IP's

Read on Gamasutra (I think) that Nexon, who published the mobile Titanfall game recently made an offer for Respawn. EA was given notice as part of their agreement to allow them the chance to make a counteroffer. Apparently that may have also been a factor that lead to the end of Visceral Games... The studio was sacrificed in order for EA to justify getting Respawn. The timing of it all certainly suggests that.

Interesting read and my opinion puts both parties at fault. The mother admits to not watching over her child and the fact the kid agreed to the T&Cs without her consent demonstrates how easy it is for kids to get stuff without permissions or consent.

And it shows a loop hole where developers/publishers may need to get consent from people under age.

But overall she needs to speak to her son if he has ignored a cease and desist then again fault falls on her

The mum should perhaps spend more time being involved in what her spawn is doing?

Back when I worked at an ISP in the UK I loved phoning people up to find out exactly who was using their (dial up - yes that long ago) internet connection at that precise moment in time as it was the cause of their account being actioned. A lot of the time it was their unsupervised kids running some script they'd got off a dodgy usenet group and were 1337 [email protected]><0rs.

That reminded me, anyone remember the Jolly Roger's Cookbook?

Had heard the name in the past for sure... been a while though. Tried looking up a history of it and got blocked at work.

I found a wiki page about it but that failed to mention that prior to usenet and ftp it was available on floppies, as I had it on the Amiga.

Probably get you faced with terrorism charges nowadays!
